FOLLOW FRIDAY (5)

Hi all!  The feature this week is Read.Breathe.Relax and the host, as always, is Parajunkee.  Go check them out :) Here's today's question:

Q. Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?

Oh, that's easy.  In school, I was one of those kids who actually read everything we were assigned (even though at that point I wasn't really into reading).  Answer to the question probably running through your brain at this very moment: Yes, I am a complete geek.

I'm sure no one else will say it.  The book's supposed to be a classic, and I'm sure a whole bunch of people out there like it.  Why else would it be required reading?

But my answer is Animal Farm by George Orwell.  Just…no, not for this ninja.

  6. I'm not sure I'd like Animal Farm or 1984 either. People keep telling me to read them. I probably will just to say that I have. But, they're not at the top of my list. ;)

  8. Haha, yeah I couldn't stand this book either. I got the metaphor and themes and all that but I still thought it was stupid. And depressing. Good pick! Thanks for stopping by earlier today :) Have a great weekend!

  9. Hopping through. I liked Animal Farm but it isn't the kind of book that really stuck with me. I liked Watership Down better.

  10. Aw, I love Animal Farm. But that's the way it is with books - there's always something that others love that you can't stand.

  11. While I really didn't like "Animal Farm" or that God awful "Lord of the Flies", the book that I disliked the most of was "A Great and Terrible Beauty". The characters in that book are so flawed and have virtually no redeeming features that they repulsed me. I couldn't root for any of them

  12. Fortunately, I wasn't forced to read Animal Farm in high school. So I haven't read it yet (if I ever will :P).

New follower! Hope you're having a good weekend! :)
