Hi all! Tune in Tuesday is a meme hosted over at GReads that showcases music, and since I happened to run across some fantastic songs recently, I thought I'd do a post. This first one I heard on a movie soundtrack, and I was like "Who is that???" Of course, I should've known it was The XX; they are awesome! The song's called "Shelter."
Then I found this version (which I actually think I love a little bit more; like I said, The XX rocks, but I'm a big fan of sad songs lol. Don't judge :p) This cover of "Shelter" is by fifteen-year-old Birdy.
Have you heard any great songs recently? Read any good books that made you wish they had soundtracks?? Hope you guys enjoy!
I've never heard of either of the songs, but am loving the first one. I have to add them to my Pandora. I love the Twilight soundtrack (I won't judge you if you won't judge me :)lol) and the Empire Records soundtrack. As far as a book that I think needs a soundtrack hmm... Well I just finished reading Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler and since one of the characters performs at a coffee shop it would have an awesome soundtrack with acoustic songs and a few sad, sappy songs which are my favorite :)
I loved several of the songs for the first Twilight movie; the others were awesome, too, but that was my personal fave ;) I should probably check out Fixing... It's been on my radar for a while
I had an experience like this just recently, actually. Was introduced to this song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UVNT4wvIGY (Gotye, Somebody That I Used to Know) and then Watched this and was BLOWN away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9NF2edxy-M
Also, the songs you posted....They're amazing. I think I prefer the second one, too.
Lol!! Hey girl! Thanks for commenting, and just so you know...you guys are going to kick butt at the comp this weekend :D I will be there cheering for every DD number
haven't heard these songs before. I can't think of a book that left me wanting a soundtrack, but I love the 500 days of summer soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteThat 500 Days of Summer soundtrack was awesome!!
DeleteThe XX is an amazing group..they don't have one song I don't just love. If you haven't checked them out further I highly encourage you to do so!
ReplyDeleteI have actually :) My favorite song by them is "Heart Skipped a Beat," and I agree. They're great
