Insecure Writer's Support Group: GOALS

Hi there!  This first IWSG post of 2015 is about introductions and goals, so here we go.

Hmm...well, I love to read, write and dance--which is why I'm a dance instructor :).  Tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, you name it, I teach it (except for ballet).  I've written four complete manuscripts so far, all YA.  I try to write books that I'd love to read.  At this point, I'm not sure which route I'll pursue as far as publishing goes--and that leads me to my writing goals of 2015!

My goals are to: Write a(nother) book!  Learn more about all of the publishing options available. There are so many avenues, just have to find the best one for my books.  And I love hearing what worked for other people/their stories which is one of the many reasons I'm so happy to be a part of IWSG!  Write (at least) 6 more book reviews for the blog, so I can reach my goal of 100 reviews.  Encourage other writers.  Tweet them, comment, rate their books, review etc.  Tell them when I enjoy their work, even if I feel like they might think I'm just trying to suck up.  Gah, I hope no one thinks that :/.

And also: Never, never, never give up!

Okay, so those are my goals; can't wait to check out all the other posts.  I hope everyone's 2015 is off to a great start!

  1. I love dancing too, particularly salsa and ballroom. Sadly my local class classed down so haven't been able to go in a while *sigh.* Sounds like you have some manuscripts already completed so I wish you much success on your publishing journey. You are right, there are a lot of options out there so finding the one for you can be confusing at times. Thanks for your kind words on my blog. The support sure helps boost the confidence as I prepare to enter the submission process again. Happy New Year.

  2. Wonderful list of goals for 2015, Airianna! Good luck for the manuscripts you have ready, and the next book to be written. How wonderful to be a dance teacher too, what a great thing! Dance class is soooo fun :-)

  4. Hey, I'm a reader, writer, and dancer, too! (Though ballet is my one and only love when it comes to dance. I'm far too goofy to do anything that requires real rhythm. LOL.) I think your goals sound great. There are a lot of avenues out there to publication, probably much more so than ever. Give yourself time to research it and do what feels right for you and your manuscripts(s).

  5. Those are incredible and inspiring goals Ninja Girl! I had no idea that you were a dance instructor! And here I was thinking all this time that you did something in the martial arts field.

Don't ever give up if you love what you do. You've got the drive if you've written 4 complete manuscripts already and there are so many way out there these days to publish what you want that no door ever closes. Good luck and I'll be following your progress and cheering you on!

  6. You have very worthy goals. (Which fits Ninjas, of course.)
There are a lot of publishing options, and fortunately a lot of people who've been down all the road that can give you tips.

  7. Hey there! :D Cool, a ninja dance instructor! I wanted to do ballet when I was little but was too shy to ask. Now I'm old. lol

  9. Sorry. I'm compulsive about deleting typos.

Four manuscripts are a lot to work with. That's awesome! Four potential books. That's more than enough to build a reader base.

I also have a good feeling about 2015. Cheers!

    Happy New Year!
