TUNE IN TUESDAY: SCHOOL NIGHT

Hi all! Tune in Tuesday is a GReads meme currently being hosted over at Kate's Tales of Books and Bands.  Here's a great song I discovered this past weekend. It's called "School Night" by Ani Difranco.  Sad and desperate in tone--but aren't those always the best? ;-)  Lyrics are guaranteed to move you (and possibly make you cry like a baby).

*Sniffles* Hope everyone has a great week!

  1. My husband and I listen to Ani a lot. I would love to see her play one day.

  2. That's an old song. I probably heard it 4 years ago. It's but another sad, lovey dovey break up song. I love her voice but the song is anything but original.

  4. Downloaded it immediately upon hearing it for the first time. Reminded me of the "Once" soundtrack- if you haven't heard any of the songs, you should check them out. They are similar to the raw, honest tone of Ani Difranco. (My favorite songs from the soundtrack are Once, When Your Mind's Made Up, Lies, Falling Slowly.). Love the songs you post- keep it up!

    1. Me, too! That combo that we learned was really great--especially loved the "tell me goodbye" part and the "you are a party, and I am a school marm." Gorgeous. And I love Falling Slowly and When Your Mind's Made Up!! I'll have to check out the rest of the album, thanks :)
Oh, and sorry I forgot to record you guys doing that contemporary piece. If you still want to, we can do it after the break ;) Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
